Wild Hydrangea or Smooth Hydrangea is a nice 3-6 foot shrub for part shade. Currently we have a cultivar of this native shrub called "Annabelle". It produces large round clusters of white, sterile flowers. The photo is of this cultivar in summer 2006. The dry flowerheads persist through the winter, adding interest to the winter landscape.
