Quercus palustris - Pin Oak is a fast-growing, native, deciduous tree. The lower limbs are pendulous and give the tree a pyramidal shape. The acorns are good food for wildlife and the tree provides cover and habitat for many species. Pin Oak prefers wet but well-drained soils and typically grows in bottomlands.
