Quercus rubra or Northern Red Oak is a medium to tall, deciduous tree. It is the fastest growing and tallest growing of the oaks and is long-lived. Northern Red Oak commonly reaches 65-100 feet, but can grow as tall as 160 feet given time and favorable conditions. Many mammals feed on Northern Red Oak acorns, as well as songbirds, gamebirds, and waterfowl.
