Calycanthus floridus - Eastern Sweetshrub, also called Carolina Allspice is a deciduous shrub with aromatic, dark green foliage. Blooms in the late spring/early summer are dark red and strap-like and usually very fragrant. 'Athens' variety also available with yellow-green flowers.
