Amelanchier canadensis - Shadblow Serviceberry, Canadian Serviceberry, or Shadbush is an understory tree with showy,long petaled white flowers which appear before the leaves emerge. Tree habit tends to be multi-stemmed. Fruit is highly attractive to birds and is edible to humans, if you can beat the birds to it. Tree is subject to rusts, scale, aphids, etc. however damage is usually cosmetic and not life-threatening.
