Shipping Restrictions:
We cannot ship plants or bulbs to Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO addresses, or to any addresses outside the U.S.

Agricultural Regulations:
Agricultural regulations restrict the shipment of certain plants. When "No AL, AR, CA, etc."  appears in a description, it means these plants cannot be shipped to the states indicated. We cannot ship plants or bulbs outside the continental U.S.

Shipping:
We ship our plants at the right time for planting in your area, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. All hard goods are shipped when you place your order, unless you request otherwise. We begin shipping the most cold-tolerant, dormant perennials and all woody plants in early March to Zones 7-10, in early April to Zones 5-6, and zones 2-4 and less cold-tolerant plants start shipping in April, in the latter part of the month. The season ends in mid-June and begins again in September with temperatures determining the precise date. We ship plants at the right time for fall planting in your area, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone.

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. We usually remove the pot for shipping and package the rootmass in plastic bags. Most herbaceous plants are grown in quart or gallon pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. Trees, shrubs, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped with or without the pot. The size of the pot is noted in the individual description.

Our shipments travel via UPS, which requires a street address for delivery, so please provide both street and postal addresses, if applicable. Large or heavy items may require additional charges. We ask that, when possible, you please provide an address where there is a daytime recipient available. Please contact us with 2 weeks notice, if you'll be away at expected time of delivery as plants are perishable. Shipments cannot be made to post office boxes. We cannot be responsible for delivery problems due to incorrect addresses. Please check that you have typed in the correct address and ZIP code.

In the rare case when severe weather prevents timely delivery of tender plants intended as gifts, we will send an announcement of your gift.
Additional charges apply for 2nd day Air. Product details note any items that require additional lead-time or that can only be shipped Standard (ground delivery).

Packing and shipping costs are generally 25% of plant order east of the Mississippi and 30% of plant order west of the Mississippi. Minimum packing and shipping charge is $10.00. Birdhouses and other heavy items require additional shipping. You may pick up your order at the nursery throughout the year by making prior arrangements to allow us time to assemble it. Choose the 'Will Call' box when checking out.

Shipping Date:
Plants are perishable items. We ship our plants at the beginning of the business week so that they will not over-weekend in warehouses or trucks. We ship on Mondays and Tuesdays for plant orders placed by 6PM eastern time on Friday. Otherwise, the order will be shipped the next business week. Hard goods orders are shipped 2 business days after receipt of order.
